Escaped from her stifling small town, Cole (Stewart), arrives in the army. She always wanted to visit Iraq, but is sent to Guantanamo. Here comes in contact with the hatred and abuseby Muslims in charge. Cole finds herself set up an unlikely friendship with Ali, who has been imprisoned at Guantanamo for eight years.
